  1. Changing Operator Logo:
You will need FExplorer (or X-plore). Also the image you want to set as Operator logo should be 97x25.

I'm assuming that the image that you want to set as your operator logo is saved in your MMC. Now follow the steps given below.

    1. Open FExplorer (or X-plore)
    2. Go to C:\system\apps and check if there is any folder named "phone" or not.
    3. If there is no "phone" folder then create one and then go inside the folder and create another folder named oplogo.
    4. If the phone and oplogo folder are already there then move on to the next step.
    5. Since your image is saved in MMC, go to E: drive and search where your image is located.
    6. When you have found out the image you want to set as your Operator logo, click on "Options" > "File" > "Set as operator logo".
    7. A message will pop up saying your phone needs to reboot. Click "Ok".
    8. After your phone has restarted, your new operator logo would be set.
    Thats it. Enjoy.

    Additional Note:
    * Alternatively, you may use OPLOGO MAN app to change operator logo.
    * If your image is saved in phone memory and not MMC then instead of searching it in the E: drive, locate your image in the C: drive.

Follow the steps below to revert back to the original Operator Logo :
    1. Open FExplorer (or X-plore)
    2. Go to C:\system\apps\phone\oplogo
    3. Delete the file you see there.
    4. Restart your phone.

Your Operator Logo is now back to how it orginally was.

  2. How to send themes from one phone to another:
First you will need to have FExplorer on both the phones and then proceed with the steps below.

    * Sender = The person sending the theme from his phone
    * Recipient =
The person receiving the theme on his phone.
Also It's assumed that the theme is saved in the MMC of the sender's phone.

    Sender's Steps:
    1. Open FExplorer on the sender's phone.
    2. Browse to E:\System\skins
    3. You will see alot of gibberishly named folder.
    4. When you enter into any of those folders, you will see some files with the name of the theme.
    5. Lets say you want to transfer the theme whose folder is named as 082df835462c1b4a.
    6. Send all the content inside the folder 082df835462c1b4a via bluetooth to the recipient's phone.
    7. Recipient must make a note of the folder name 082df835462c1b4a
    8. The sender's task is over now.

    * Recipient's Steps:
    1. Open FExplorer.
    2. Browse to E:\System\skins and make a new directory/folder named exactly as the folder in the sender's phone. (i.e. 082df835462c1b4a)
    3. Go back to the main menu and scroll down to "inbox" and enter it.
    4. In the "inbox" you will find the files that the sender sent you.
    5. Copy/cut them one by one and paste them in the folder you just made.
    6. Exit FExplorer.
    7. Go to Themes >> (Move the joystick right to enter themes saved in MMC) and you will find the new theme there.
  3. You may create themes for your nokia s60 phones in three ways..

    » ONLINE-THEME MAKING:

You can create your own themes by using online theme-making service of http://www.ownskin.com ... The site has loads of advanced features. The theme-making task is very easy, though it requires a bit more time.

    » OFFLINE THEME-MAKING:

In order to create themes on your pc, you'll need any theme making software. There are two known popular theme makers for me. They are S60 THEME STUDIO and CARBIDE THEME CREATOR. You might find it difficult to create themes at first. But once you start using them, you'll feel it easy.

    » THEME-MAKING ON MOBILE:

It's possible to create themes on your mobile phones. You may use TBUILDER for creating themes. In order to run the app, you'll require PYTHON to be installed on your phone. Obviously creating themes on mobile has limitations.
  4. How 2 stop applications getting started during phone Boot?

In c:/system/ there is a folder named "recogs", this folder conatins.mdl files will act as a shortcut to the actual application. During system startup all these mdl files will be read and started up. If you edit this file to point to nonexisting file then the application wont startup again. Don't delete the files as they will be recreated next time you open the application manually.
  5. Locking default application:
    Want to Lock default application?
Don't want everybody read your SMS?
Then just Lock Messaging Application, here is the way....
    1) Open 3rd Party Application like Fexlporer, x-plore...
    2) Go to Z/System/Apps/mce
    3) Mark two files of mce.aif and mce.app
    4) Press Option -> Edit -> Copy
    5) Then go into X/System/Apps/ (X stands for either C or E)
    6) Create a folder with name "Locked"
    7) Paste the two files in that folder
    8) Rename mce.aif into Locked.aif
    9) And mce.app to Locked.app
    10) After that, wait for 5 seconds and then try to open messaging application.
    11) You should see the Messaging can't be opened.
  6. Increase Your MMC Space:
Your files in MMC are stored in multiple (disk) blocks. So if you format using 16K block, the space used will be 16K eventhough your file is just 1K. If you buy MMC, it is usually preformatted with 16K block. Therefore alot of space is wasted as most installed program files are usually less than 2K.
You will need a card reader to do this:-
    1. Connect card reader and copy all your files in the MMC to computer disk. (Make sure you set the show all/hidden/os files to "on")
    2. Do a format of the MMC using command line "format" and use the /A=size option.
Alternative, you can use the Disk Management in Adminstrative Tools to format. Make sure you select FAT. For 256MB MMC, smallest block you can use is 4K, 128MB is 2K, 64Mb is 1K and 32MB is 512B. (Note: You cannot use the phone "format MMC" to do this as the format just clear the allocation table and does not change the block size)
    3. Copy back all files to MMC. Now you will find that you will have more space. 256mb MMC got back 30+ mbs
  7. Can't delete files in your Inbox?:

When you can't delete a file which is in your inbox the normal way, here is what you can do :

    1. Install FExplorer (or X-plore).
    2. Launch it and goto the path/folder of your message inbox. If its on the C drive, it would be C:\system\Mail\00001001_S and the same if its on the E.
    3. You will notice there are more folders, 0 to9 and a to f. Just go look into all those folders and you should be able to find the file that you want to delete.
    4. Once found, click on Options > File > Delete.
    5. Exit FExplorer (or X-plore) & go to your Inbox to delete the file again

  8. REMOVE FONTS:

Instead of removing fonts with Font-remover, you may remove fonts manually.
    Following the steps below:
    1. Open X-plore (or any other file manager you have)
    2. Go to c://System/fonts. Rename the folder and remove the GDR file in the folder.
    3. Restart your phone.
    4. Done!
  9. Changing Game zip file to jar :

Some of you might have encountered this problem and did not know how to solve it.

There are 2 methods of changing the zip file to jar.

    * 1st Method :
    1. Let me take the example of a file named capoeira_.zip.
    2. At the time of downloading the file, it will ask you if you want to open it or save to PC.
    3. Select the option to save it to your PC.
    4. Now rename the file name from capoeira_.zip to capoeira_.jar
    5. Save the file.
    6. It will be saved in .jar format now.

    * 2nd Method :
    1. Lets say you have the file capoeira_ in zip format in your PC.
    2. Extract the contents to a folder on your PC using winzip.
    3. Dont delete the zip file. You will need it.
    4. Open the folder.
A Go to "Tools" >> "Folder Options"
    5. Go to "View" tab
    6. Uncheck the option "Hide extensions for known file types"
    7. Save the changes and exit the folder.
    8. Now you will notice that the the zip file is named capoeira_.zip
    9. Rename it to capoeira_.jar
    10. Thats it.
